Slow and Smooth or Baby Bouncy?

I’ve been thinking about my childhood recently and the games we played. At recess, one of the most popular games was kickball. It was pure joy. Not too hard. Everyone could kick that big red ball. What I didn’t realize was the metaphor that was right underneath my nose for all those years.

Remember how you could request the pitch you wanted? It's a good life metaphor. How do you define success? Slow and smooth or baby bouncy?

Slow and Smooth = Sustainable Consistent Growth.

Baby Bouncy = Big Upside and Downside.

Obviously not all of us get to choose our own adventure. We may plan to approach life one way and all of a sudden we are forced to approach it differently. But what if we did get to choose? Which path would you take? I find that people define success differently. Some would rather swing for the fences and others would rather stitch together singles. There’s no right or wrong here, but perhaps there is for you.

Which are you drawn toward?

Regardless, I hope you get to where you want to go while taking the approach you want.
